“Evangelical” is one of the most contested terms in American religion. It has become a term so broadly applied that by 2024, especially as defined by political pundits, it has lost historical location.

Given such babel, whenever referenced as quote or intended reference, primary documentation will be cited. If no primary citation is made it will be noted as a secondary source. Commentary and cultural criticism obviously flow from there.
